Pacific Shellfish was founded in 1979 by Judd Brown who was fisherman. In 1997 they moved in to a nice looking building at 5040 Cass Street in Pacific Beach here in San Diego and a year later opened a restaurant in the same building called The Fishery.

I spoke with Tim Mavrakos (tel: 858-272-9940, tim@pacshell.com) who does sales for them. Tim has lived in San Diego for 25 years and seems to have worked with everyone in the seafood and restaurant worlds in this town. He has been a chef in several restaurants and worked in other seafood related companies in San Diego. Pacific Shellfish buys its fish from around the world and from local fisherman. Most of their clients are local restaurants.
