Jay Porter posted a link to Farm 255 on his Linkery restaurant blog, and I found it so interesting that I wanted to share it with you all. Farm 255 is a restaurant in Athens, Georgia. They also own a 7 acre farm where they get some of their ingredients. They purchase the rest from local and farm specific places. What really struck me is how the photography and aesthetic of their website communicate their message in a powerful way, which is a strong marketing tool. I think small farmers over the years have done such a poor job marketing their value that it has made life difficult for them. Maybe some of these restaurants will do a better job at it than the farmers do. Take a look at the Farm 255 website.
