Yes, I said Urchin Shooter! Starting on Thursday, December 3rd we'll be introducing Raw Sea Urchin Shooters at 5 for $20. You may have had oyster shooters before, but we're putting our usual Sea Rocket twist on things... Mitch, the local sea urchin diver we buy from, will be with us for the night to taste people on them, and if you like them, you can order a whole urchin which we'll break down into five shooters for you. Each shooter will include a slab of urchin roe, a shot of shochu (rice vodka) and a squeeze of lime. Order a round for your party and get tableside presentation of the spiky purple creature, still alive and kicking (well, ok, slowly moving!) If you want, you can even keep the shell.

We'll offer urchin shooters every Thursday in December, and if enough of you like them, we'll put them on the menu forever! Come be one of the first people in San Diego to taste this incredibly fresh, soft, sweet and briny roe doused in liquor and let us know what you think!
