There are a few fundraising events we'll be hosting here at Sea Rocket in the next few weeks. We thought you might be interested in joining in the festivities and contributing to some great causes!

On Sunday, December 6th, from 5-8pm the Smith College (my alma matter) Club of San Diego will be having a mainly raffle-based fundraiser to benefit the student scholarship fund. All money raised goes straight into the scholarship fund, which is then awarded to students attending Smith College from the San Diego area. Northampton, Massachusetts may seem really far away from San Diego, but it's a fantastic school so we encourage any female high school students from the area to give it a shot! Tickets are $10 at the door. Please RSVP to this evite if you think you'll be able to attend so that we can plan enough donated appetizers for the group! Check the evite for a list of all of the great donated prizes that you could win.

On Wednesday, December 16th, from 5-10pm we'll be hosting another fundraiser for La Reserva Foundation which works to recover and preserve rain forests in Costa Rica. Tickets are $20 and are available for pre-purchase here. The first 20 people to arrive will be treated to a special Sea Urchin demo and tasting by local urchin diver Mitch Hobron, as well as tastes of wine from Debra deFarcy with TGIC Importers who will be pouring a selection of boutique, hand-crafted wines from California. There will be raffle drawings for this fundraiser as well.
