Top 10 Restaurants For Real Food, but Not Fancy-Shmansy

I like to go out and eat real food at restaurants that care about the effects on the world of the ingredients they use in their cooking. But that doesn't mean I want to spend a lot of money. I'm willing to spend up to about $15 on an entree. When most of the entree prices on the menu are higher than that, I consider it a special occasion restaurant. So where can you go to get good, real food that isn't just special occasion food?
Here's my top 10 list to date, in no particular order:
1. The Ritual Tavern - Old style tavern about .8 miles north of us on 30th street. I'm craving their food right now.
2. The Linkery - 6 blocks north of us on 30th street, makes a TON of stuff from scratch
3. Sea Rocket Bistro - Hey, I'm on my own list! Can I do that?
4. Starlite - Marguerite uses cool ingredients and makes amazing food.
5. Pizza Fusion - LEED certified construction, great pizza, lots of organic and regional ingredients.
6. Blind Lady - Pizza and lots of beers on tap. Very cool place.
7. Burger Lounge - Grass-fed beef from the mid-west.
8. Tender Greens - You go through a line and pay at the end, then take your food to the table. Super fast, great food!
So those are the restaurants I know the most about. Here are some others I'm looking forward to trying:
9. Prep Kitchen
10. Cafe Chloe
10. The Pearl Hotel - Maybe a little more expensive, but great food and hip poolside atmosphere.
10. Alchemy

Thanks for the list!

Burger Lounge is about the only place our 8 year old daughter will eat cheese burgers. Do any of the other places on your list have kids sized portions?
No Kids!
