The Map

Last Friday, I went to a ribbon cutting for the map that was recently completed in La Jolla Shores. The map shows 50 realistic, life-sized embedded bronze fish. The interesting thing about the ocean is how close it is, but how invisible its underwater life is to most of us. I'm not a surfer or diver, so I've long had trouble visualizing all the life just off our coast. Imagine if there were enormous animals wandering around in fields across the street from you here in San Diego. Now think about the amazing, and sometimes large, animals that are actually quite close to you when you're at the beach. If you're having trouble doing this, go to La Jolla Shores and check out "The Map".
