You may agree with us that Dennis' electric motorcycle, which usually makes itself at home in our entryway, is a pretty cool sight to behold. Well, I've been following the automotive company Tesla Motors for several years now, whose sole purpose is to create totally electric vehicles. A friend of mine has been working on their batteries for the last five years, so it's pretty exciting that their first car is finally out on the market- a super sleuth sports car called the Roadster. I was up in the bay area a couple of weeks ago so got to visit the showroom as well as get a tour of their big new facility, where they will actually do the installation of the batteries and any additional customizations after purchase.

Here's a video I made that shares a bunch of information you can also find on their website, with some additional second-hand knowledge passed on through yours truly. If you can't afford the Roadster, they're coming out with a Sedan in the next couple of years, and additional models in the future will continue to bring the prices down so that eventually electric cars can completely take over the roads. Of course, it would be even more amazing if we could get cars to run just on organic compost waste as imagined in my favorite movie of all time, "Back to the Future." One dream at a time though.
