Eleven Best Foods

Yesterday, Elena and I participated in a fundraiser for Pro Peninsula, an organization that does environmental work in Baja. This is an organization that we're especially interested in given the amount of fishing done there.
We grilled up some whole sardines for the guests. Other good restaurants also participated like El Pescador and Ritual. While we were there, a number of people came up to talk to us about how happy they are that there is now a restaurant in San Diego that serves sardines (us). One person pointed out this interesting article in the New York Times, The 11 Best Foods You Aren't Eating. I've never been a health food nut (more of just a nut in general), but it was nice to see that several of the items we regularly serve are on the list in the article, namely beets (beet and goat cheese tart), chard (sauteed as a side), and sardines (grilled whole).
So I'll raise my glass of beer (Green Flash Hop Head Red) and toast with you, "to good health!"
