Costa Azul Wine Tasting Dinner 8/12 - CANCELLED
elena — Tue, 08/04/2009 - 16:18
In just one week, we'll be hosting a dinner party featuring 4 different wines from local winery Costa Azul/Christopher Cameron Vineyards.
Next Wednesday's menu will include:
Mixed Seasonal Green Salad with Sauvignon Blanc viniagrette
Costa Azul Sauvignon Blanc, Lake County, 2008
This wine has some gooseberry and grapefruit reminiscent of Marlborough but is also expressing some honeydew melon. The wine has been aged in french oak barrels for 6 months.
Seared Baja Diver Scallop with Chardonnay Beurre Blanc
Christopher Cameron Vineyards Chardonnay, Dry Creek Valley, 2008
This wine went through fermentation and Ml in tank and was then put into french oak barrels. This style of fermentation allowed for more fruit expression- specifically peach, pineapple, and banana.
Roast Leg of Lamb with Petite Sirah reduction
Christopher Cameron Vineyards Petite Sirah, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, 2007
This full bodied wine is 100% Petite Sirah and exhibits deep dark fruits, mocha, chocolate, white pepper, and earth. Probably the best wine they have produced to date.
Strawberry Shortcake with Late Harvest Zinfandel sauce
Costa Azul Late Harvest Zinfandel, Alexander Valley
This viscous dessert wine has lush raspberry/boysenberry fruit on the palette. The wine has solid natural acidity to balance the 12% residual sugar.
The cost for this prix fixe menu is $40 (not including tax or gratuity). Click here to RSVP via evite.com.
