BioBags

When you run a business, household, or any organization, you get to make choices that have a real effect on your relationship with the world. At Sea Rocket, we're trying to make as many choices as possible that make that relationship mutually beneficial.
One choice we recently made was to order 2,800 trash bags. The cool thing about these bags are that they are completely compostable and made out of corn. They're from a Norwegian company called Bio Bag. We looked at other bags that are made out of recycled plastic and say they are biodegradable, but that didn't make sense to us.
Switching to Bio Bags cost us about 13 cents more per trash bag (43 cents versus 30 cents for plastic bags), but since we've reduced the number of trash bags used to 3 per day thanks to recycling and composting, the additional cost isn't significant.
Bio Bag sells to regular folks through a bunch of different places. Or if you'd like to order the bags in bulk, get in touch with Tom at Bio Bag USA, tom@biobagusa.com. He'll be in his office in Palm Harbor, Florida.
They also carry mulch film for gardening and farming, as well as bags for almost every use you can think of.
Here are our Bio Bags in action... notice the composting bucket next to the trash can.
