This Friday kicks off the last week of Beer & Seafood events we've been hosting recently. It's been a long summer of local beer, featuring four brews on draft each week from the same brewery along with menu pairings. The idea was to offer our guests the opportunity to try a larger repertoire of beers from each brewery than we would usually have at any given time, and get to know the people who create them in the process. Thanks to Kevin Furgal for coming out last Friday to help us celebrate Karl Strauss.

Just a quick note to let you know that as our featured local brewery events continue, we'll have Karl Strauss beers on draft starting Friday for the next week, as well as a couple of the brewery guys with us over the weekend. We'll be featuring their Endless Summer Light, Amber Lager, Stargazer IPA and Red Trolley Ale. Try them alone or try all of them together as a tasting flight.

Well, we've enjoyed a week of Mission Brewery beers on draft and are looking forward to featuring Ballast Point Brewing Co. this weekend. But before that, we'll be hosting an unofficial gathering of the San Diego homebrewers club called QUAFF this Thursday, August 21st at 7pm to celebrate our friend Paul Gagnon's win of the Gold Medal Award from the American Homebrewers Association's 2008 National Homebrew Competition this June.

Well, our featured Stone kegs have almost all been drained, and we're looking forward to another week of local craft beer celebrations. In addition to the brewery representatives who were on hand over the weekend, Greg Koch, CEO of Stone Brewing Co. came by early this week to check out our menu. Here's a photo of him (hair dyed blue for charity) with Caley, one of our servers, making a toast to local beers!

Stone Brewing Co., a great local craft brewery located in Escondido, will be on-site with us at Sea Rocket Bistro this Friday and Saturday, August 8th-9th to celebrate a collection of their high-character beers. We'll have their Pale Ale, IPA (India Pale Ale), Arrogant Bastard Ale, and Smoked Porter on draft which should make a great tasting combination! We'll be offering these featured beers both in 5 oz flights and in 12 oz pours so you can either try them all or at least have a few without slipping under the table.
